As City Attorney of Miami Beach for six years, Larry Feingold was one of the leaders to redefine Miami Beach from a city with economic blight in the 1980’s to a world-class community and a number one international tourist destination in the 1990’s. Notable achievements during his tenure include the city-sponsored initiative to redevelop Lincoln Road into one of the United States’ most successful retail venues and securing two convention center hotels through public-private ventures.
The City Commission and the Mayor of Miami Beach acknowledged Larry Feingold’s reversal of a million Court judgment against the City involving the Miami Beach Marina; authoring the City’s Human Rights Ordinance now used as a model for Civil Rights nationwide; and winning a Federal Court decision that kept the Ku Klux Klan from protesting at the Holocaust Memorial. Mayor Gelber declared February 6, 1996 “Laurence Feingold Day” for these Acts as City Attorney and continuous honorable service to the City.
Since returning to a Private Practice, Mr. Feingold has been appointed by numerous Circuit Court Judges to serve as Guardian Ad Litem and Attorney Ad Litem in mortgage foreclosures and other equitable legal procedures.
